Awww 🙁

WoD could have been something really interesting. Even in MMO form. CCP’s design sensibilities run more to social sandbox than WoW-like theme park, so I was more than happy to at least see what they could come up with. Guess we’ll never know.

Let’s take a moment to consider what could have been with this ubercool trailer.

Mixed feelings about this. On one hand I am a bit wary of CPP, since their games tend to emphasize on hardcore PVP and force players to invest heavily in the game, which I avoid since I’m not a big fan of MMOs in general.

On the other hand World of Darkness is a more social setting, with intrigue playing at least as much part as combat in the average game, so it would have been interesting to see what they would do with it. At least it would have been different. But I guess it was not meant to be.

Yeah, I mainly play MMOs to experience the world, maybe a bit of socializing, but the grind generally gets to me long before I hit the level cap.

I love the WoD setting, so I was at least keen to see what they would have done with it. In the end, I think the nature of MMOs would likely have killed the atmosphere, but even failed experiments can be interesting.
